The State Water Resource Control Board’s Division of Drinking Water’s Imperial District has an opening for a Water Resource Control Engineer. The position is located at 2375 Northside San Diego.

Duties:

Under the close supervision of a Senior Water Resource Control Engineer, the incumbent will perform a variety of engineering work related to public water systems. Duties will include on-site inspection activities including physical inspection of water sources, treatment plants, storage reservoirs, pump stations and distribution facilities. The position will also be responsible for regulatory surveillance and compliance determination activities including the review of water quality monitoring records, system operational records, water system operations and monitoring plans. The incumbent will review and prepare reports and recommendations on permit requests for construction or modification of public water system sources, treatment plants, storage reservoirs and distribution and collection facilities including checking engineering calculations and design drawings and other engineering documents to assure that water purveyors comply with good engineering practices and legal requirements for supplying drinking water under the California Safe Drinking Water Act.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
