We have an exciting opportunity for a Test Engineer to join our team with the Engineering Division.

The VIPER System Integration & Test (SI&T): Test Engineer will:

· Develop hardware test plans and schedules, including the identification of test cases

· Develop hardware test procedures and execute flight hardware tests such as thermal, vibration, shock, acoustic, modal, vacuum, and radiation testing

· Setup and operate test instrumentation and data acquisition systems for spacecraft flight hardware testing

· Document test results and test discrepancies

· Lead anomaly investigations and troubleshooting efforts

· Provide technical guidance to test team members

· Perform to functional and technical specifications and standards, aid in solutions for hardware interface problems, and ensure integration of the entire system or subsystem through test product execution

· Coordinate subsystem and/or system testing activities

· Work in a team environment, and report to project lead or project manager for technical support, task assignment, and processes

· Generate essential paperwork and documents for tasks assigned, such as Task Performance Sheets (TPS), Discrepancy Reports (DR), and Detailed Test Procedures (DTP), as needed

· Perform job functions based on pre-established guidelines or instructions

· Perform other duties as required

· Requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering in the field or in a related area.

· Self-motivated person with strong verbal and written communication skills

· This role requires the flexibility and willingness to take on new assignments as they arise

· Experience with test procedure development

· Prior experience with hardware anomaly troubleshooting and failure analysis

· Excellent oral and written communication skills and will be expected to effectively interact with customers and management at all levels

· Must have the ability to visualize and work with complex mechanical/electrical systems and work with others in problem solving as part of a team

· Familiarity with Microsoft Office products

· Familiar with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and procedures

· Experience with hardware processing for spaceflight

· Ex Co-op or Intern experience at JSC or other NASA agency

· Familiarity with the Engineering Life Cycle process

· Experience with Creo
