Job Summary and Qualifications

The Echo Technologist is responsible for performing Echocardiograms, assisting with Trans esophageal Echocardiograms, Stress Echocardiograms and Pharmacological Echocardiograms according to procedure. The Technologist is expected to work closely with physicians and patients to ensure adequate test results. Plan of care will include all age groups.

MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Carefully checks each test requisition for validity, duplication, medical record number and proper charges
• Proficient with performing patient testing
• Able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria appropriate to the following age groups: adolescents, adult and geriatric
• Maintains test equipment with proper cleaning and supplies
• Able to sue computer for scanning charges maintaining files
• Evaluates the performance of equipment
• Explains to the patient the procedure about to be performed and the purpose of the test; consistently relaxes the patient before a test to ensure proper results
• Maintains a good rapport and cooperative working relationship with physicians and their office staff
• Demonstrates good judgement in solving problem related to personnel or referring problems to the coordinator when necessary
• Consistently completes echo procedure in an adequate amount of time
• Achieves state goals related to job performance
• Educational attendance records reveal attendance at all required educational programs/in-servicesequires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

• Training and understanding of Echo procedures and equipment
• Graduate of an accredited program in Echo Sonography
• Current CCI or ARDMS Certification or registry eligible in Adult Echo – registry to be acquired by 6 months after hire date
• CPR for Healthcare Providers to be completed within 30 days of hire
