About This Role:

Under limited supervision, the Technical Services Representative II ensures timely and accurate response to product and technical support inquiries for customers, sales and service personnel, and in-house personnel.

Preference will be given to candidates who reside in the Eastern Standard Time Zone and/or are able to work a schedule that will allow us to best serve our customers in Europe.

Essential Functions:

  • Responds to incoming customer irrigation and lighting questions and e-mails on the Company's technical support phone lines and website, including requests for product performance and specification information, including Saturdays.
  • Assists in troubleshooting product problems, advises product capabilities, and recommends proper replacement parts and repair procedures. Records and categorizes incoming questions, by customer type, product type, and region, including follow-up.
  • Assists the Product Managers in special projects as directed by the Technical Services Supervisor.
  • Communicates regularly with Product Managers and Engineers and provides information regarding product failures, technical information, and product quality.
  • Authors website support articles for Hunter and FX products. Monitors and manages Technical Support website content, online industry forums and App store reviews of Hunter offerings as required. Writes new and updates existing Technical Support Stationaries for Hunter and FX Ask-the-Expert website.
  • Beta-tests new products and reports findings to Product Management and Engineering Departments.
  • Provides remote central control software support by phone and via Team Viewer/GoTo Meeting apps. Creates high-level support articles for central control communications, hardware, and software for both domestic and international customers.
  • Stands in for Product Managers during fly-ins as a technical resource as required. Provides on-site training for distributors and customers.
  • Manages Hunter Product online forum and social media inquiries where questions regarding difficult product issues are addressed.

Education/Training Required and Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in landscape and irrigation design, landscape architecture, lighting design, horticulture, or equivalent education and experience.

Experience Required and Preferred:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in landscape irrigation industry, agricultural industry, landscape lighting industry and/or wholesale distribution.

What You Bring:

  • In-depth knowledge of landscape and irrigation products in the industry. Knowledge of irrigation design and pumping system design.
  • Strong mechanical and technical skills, including a working understanding of Wi-Fi systems and basic electrical principals.
  • Excellent writing, listening and customer relations skills.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work under minimal supervision, to self-initiate activities, and to work within timelines.
  • Problem solving skills including problem analysis, planning and organizing, decisiveness, decision-making.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other departments.
  • Proficient computer skills including familiarity with the Internet and Windows programs to perform word processing and spreadsheet and database management.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Ability to work overtime and/or weekend work when required.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and the ability to interact with members across the organization.
  • Knowledge of electricity with a focus on irrigation and landscape lighting electrical systems, including use of a digital multi-meter and a clamp meter.
  • Familiarity with Wi-Fi and LAN/Ethernet communication, set-up, and troubleshooting.
  • Irrigation Association certification and water auditor training preferred.
  • Knowledge of competitors’ products preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, French, German or Italian is required.

The hourly pay for this opportunity ranges from $23.00-$36.25

The Company complies with all federal/local/state regulations in regard to pay. The above represents the expected hourly range for this job requisition.
