Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The Talent Acquisition (TA) Consultant position has primary responsibility for oversight of all permanent SHRA and EHRA Non-Faculty for assigned client groups and serves as the lead consultant for respective recruitments. This is a position of high responsibility that includes policy interpretation and application of policies and participating in all aspects of the recruitment process including working with managers to attract well-qualified, diverse candidate pools and successfully hire and onboard new employees. This position requires a high level of technical knowledge and independent decision making and serves as the primary consultant for all recruitment and hiring matters. This position also works proactively with managers in efforts to secure the best candidate pool possible, consulting with managers during the recruitment process, and works directly with supervisors managing Reduction in Force (RIF) notifications.
The TA Consultant maintains a broad understanding of HR policies including OSHR (Office of State Human Resources), UNCW, and UNCSO (University of North Carolina Systems Office) administrative policies and shares this knowledge with others. This position requires diplomacy and tact when working with hiring managers and their staff. This position works collaboratively as a member of the Talent Acquisition Team in the HR Department and with constituents across the campus, providing outstanding customer service in all aspects of responsibility. This position reports to the Director of Talent Acquisition.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Graduation from a four-year college or university and two years of progressively responsible experience analyzing, interpreting, applying, communicating and promoting HR best practices in the context of organizational goals and objectives; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred education, professional skills and experience
- At least two years of experience in recruitment, job analysis, organizational design and compensation
- High level of organization, discretion, and an ability to prioritize
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Knowledgeable and skilled with recruitment principles and techniques; organizational design and consultation; training and development, and project management
- Proficient knowledge and application of applicant tracking systems (ATS) as well as substantive functional and technical expertise in ERP HR systems and/or applications for system design, analysis, and reporting purposes
