Overview:

A System Engineer requires a high level of critical thinking and problem-solving. The individual in performing this role is experienced and knowledgeable in the technical details of support technologies. In addition, a System Engineer has the ability to quickly adapt to technologies that may be newly released or non-standard.

A System Engineer will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to individuals at all levels of an organization. The role will ensure the client is confident in Vertilocity's ability to successfully implement and configure solutions recommended by Vertilocity.
A System Engineer will stay up to date on the solutions being introduced, whether they be an all-encompassing solution or third-party add-ons. The technological aspects of this role require interest and curiosity in fully understanding solutions. Therefore, training, self-study, and continuous improvement of skills are evaluation factors for a System Engineer.
This role requires an individual to be team-oriented and open and honest about their abilities and deficiencies. Then, as a team, Vertilocity can address the immediate problems and improve areas of need per the individual.
A System Engineer will provide services at a client's location, and the ability to travel to the client is required (mostly local).
A System Engineer should gain certification in any solution Vertilocity is presenting to our clientele.
This role calls for solid writing skills and organization. Time should be accurately entered and the written details outlining the time entry should be clear and justify the effort in terms of time entered.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide the top tier of hands-on support for assigned client accounts.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of deployed technologies and Vertilocity standards.
  • Manage escalated issues with Support Technicians and provide post-review on resolved escalated incidents.
  • Continuously maintain client technical documentation.
  • Maintain client user contact information and ensure each supported individual's information is current and accurate.
  • Implement configurations for firewalls, wireless solutions, switches, servers, as well desktop/pcs for future use for each supported client.
  • Have the ability to manage Backup and Disaster Recovery Systems. For example, ensuring proper backups are created and having the ability to restore from a Backup and Disaster Discovery System.
  • Utilize proactive reviews and visits to assigned clients to reduce risks and future IT-related incidents.
  • Track all time and expenses associated with job responsibilities.
  • Work with Network Administrator to prepare deliverables for Quarterly Business Review.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities with assigned clients.
  • Handle escalated tickets.

Job Details:
  • Reports to: Network Administration and COO.
  • Education: Associate's degree or higher or Relevant Military training.
  • Type: Full Time.

Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and quickly learn new technology.
  • Responsible, professional, and motivated.
  • 4-6 years experience in Information Technology experience.
  • Experience with PSA and RMM tools.
  • Experience in Switching, Routing, and Firewalls.
  • Experience with Fortinet Technologies will be considered first.
  • Experience with Cisco or SonicWALL is a plus.
  • Certifications Switching/Routing/Firewall technologies are a plus.
  • Must have experience in the establishment of static and software-based VPNs.
  • Microsoft Server Network.
  • Microsoft Azure Platform.
  • Must understand and have experience with Domain Services.
  • Experience and concept understanding of AD, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Remote Desktop Services and Azure Virtual Desktop experience are a plus.
  • MCSA or MSCE is a plus.
  • Establishing Platform and Network Services.
  • Creation of Server Environment.
  • Experience in connecting Azure Services to environments (AD Sync, AD Premium, Office 365 Management).
  • Certification a Plus.
