The Novelis North America (NNA) Can team is seeking a Director, Supply Chain responsible for leading the end-to-end supply chain of Novelis North America for all customer requirements within the Can value stream. Doing so by planning and managing the demand of the Can cluster, creating daily and weekly production plans and schedules, balancing inventory, and optimizing the metal flow from raw material to finished goods. This person will lead the Demand Planning, Master Planning, Facility Planning and External Processor Planning team and guides them with a deep understanding in Supply Chain concepts and methodologies, as well as the Novelis North America manufacturing network and material flow. The Director, Supply Chain drives excellence in their team by developing and coaching talent, enabling, and encouraging collaboration and creating a strong focus on safety and culture of accountability. Responsibilities
- Monitor production performance monthly and review capacity parameters, initiate improvement or adjustment actions with supply chain, operations, and quality or value streams
- Aim for EHS targets and always encourage safe behaviors
- Review production performance daily and ensure performance to target
- Analyze customer demand forecast and sales orders in terms of order lead times, quantities, and frequencies to determine optimal supply and service strategy
- Optimize the metal flow, strategic buffers including engineered inventory targets, lead times and capacity parameters to continuously improve use of working capital, operational excellence, and customer service levels
- Own the capacity parameters and inventory strategies for the value stream and ensure the S&OP for the region is representing these in an efficient way
- Collaborate with the other Supply Chain leaders ensuring an efficient balance within the manufacturing network
- Manage performance of the team to achieve Novelis North America’s target in EHS, Customer Centricity, Operational Excellence, Quality and ROCE
- Develop and grow talent in the team and implement a culture of accountability, collaboration and enhanced team work across functions.
Minimum Qualifications
- 15+ years of total experience in Supply Chain or related field
- Manufacturing industry experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Engineering strongly preferred
- Previous experience managing leaders
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous metal industry experience
- SAP or other integrated ERP system experience
- Previous experience working with greenfield operations and joint ventures
- Sophisticated analytics skills and experience using digital tools such as: AnyLogic, Python, PowerApps or similar
