Position Description Summary
The Facilities Structural Engineer will be responsible for plan/design reviews of all Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP) facilities. As well as advise on structural solutions to issues found on future and ongoing projects. And additionally take part in and potentially lead coordination efforts with outside agencies and LAWA groups regarding LAMP structural designs and issues. Reports to LAMP Engineering Manager.
Essential Job Duties
· Leads fixed facilities engineering reviews of design specifications/plans and commissioning/acceptance documents for all LAMP facilities. The facilities include the Automated People Mover (APM) Maintenance Storage Facility (MSF), six APM stations with connecting pedestrian walkways, Consolidated Rent-A-Car (ConRAC) facility, Economy parking structure and other related facilities.
· Drafting of letter correspondence with Developer/Contractor regarding structural design plans/issue resolution.
· Create clear and detailed powerpoint presentations regarding LAMP projects/structural issues.
· Ensures the fixed facility engineering elements meet program established goals, contractual requirements, technical provisions, and good industry practices through the compliance review process.
· Coordinates with other discipline support staff during task force participation, design reviews, submittal reviews, commissioning, and acceptance testing.
· Coordinate with LAMP third party and interface coordination as well as roadway and utility teams.
Hardware/Software Knowledge
· Experienced with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Word), Sharepoint, Bluebeam and/or Prolog is a plus.
Professional Experience Level/Other Qualifications
· 10+ years of demonstrated fixed facilities engineering and design on capital projects of similar size/scope/complexity to the LAMP.
· Familiar with the integration of complex structural engineering needed for fixed facilities.
· Roadway and utility experience is also a plus.
· Knowledge of applicable building codes and regulations.
Education/Training
· B.S. degree in civil engineering with structural emphasis.

· Maybe required to work various shifts as needed.
· This position offers a hybrid/telework schedule. Telework - Monday and Friday. Onsite - Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Please refer to LAWA’s Pilot Policy for details.
