Position Purpose

Review and process merchandise-related documents and Cash Reports. Communicate with store management on routine accounting matters.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Develop working knowledge of products and PSA assignments.

2. Physical audit paperwork verification; calculation and reporting of book-to-physical inventory adjustment.

3. Review of daily Cash Report and reconciliation of designated balances.

4. Accurate maintenance of perpetual retail inventory through invoice and other merchandise-related document processing (data entry and balancing).

5. Providing information and data for operational reporting.

6. Field and facilitate the resolution of store management and Field Consultant inquiries for assigned stores.

7. Develop knowledge of proprietary software and associated applications.

8. Support other tasks as assigned

Operating Responsibility

Misstatement of operating results through improper account allocation and improper valuation of inventory

Complexity and difficulty level – average

Informs supervisor of unusual circumstances

Education and Experience

A high school diploma is required. Higher education in accounting-related courses preferred.

Physical Requirements

Ten-key by touch

PC operation experience

Packing of documents performed monthly. Requires bending and lifting of approximately 30 – 50 pounds

Work Environment

PC operation – eye damage

Document packing and lifting

Ten-key operation – Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Supervision

Receives little or no supervision after commencement of training

May be responsible for assisting other Store Accountants when needed

Responsibilities for Property, Funds and Information

Thorough knowledge of Merchandising Programs and retail familiarity

Money order processing / receipt of voids and damaged money orders

Access to confidential financial information
