Sr Reimbursement Analyst/Government Programs - Remote Flexibility

Job Summary:
The Sr. Reimbursement Analyst is primarily responsible for managing the preparation and filing of Medicare Cost Reports as well as serving as a subject matter expert on Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement issues. Is responsible for monthly contractual allowance calculations and AR Reserves. Utilizes strong analytical, computer, and communication skills in order to effectively perform as a consultant and liaison to Administration, Management, Auditors, Consultants, and other professionals. This position has dyad reporting relationships with the Director of Finance and the Controller.
Essential Functions:
- Manages the System’s Medicare Cost Report filings, reopening and appeals in an accurate and timely manner.
- Is responsible for Wage Index and Occupational Mix reporting and audits.
- Researches complex reimbursement and regulatory issues and provides analysis and summary as needed.
- Effectively manages Cost Report and other related Third Party Government Audits (DSH/SSI/S-10etc).
- Coordinates the accurate settlement of all State and Federal reimbursement issues.
- Effectively manages the System’s projections and reserves associated with the State’s Certified Public Expenditure (CPE) program.
- Analyzes the impact of Federal and State regulatory changes and works with management to develop an appropriate response. Promotes awareness and provides education as needed.
- Files in a timely and accurate manner, the Champus request for Capital Expense Refund.
- Serves as subject matter expert on Medicare and Medicaid Reimbursement Issues and supports department directors on same.
- Provides necessary support, documentation and research for State, regulatory and accounting audits as well as to internal and external customers and/or agencies.
- Develops pro formas and models financial impact of Graduate Medical Education program.
- Supports all revenue enhancement initiatives as needed.
- Performs monthly AR Reserve Analysis in an accurate and timely manner.
- Participates in preparation of Annual Operating Plan.
- Supports financial aspects of the 340B program. Synthesizes and interprets elements from multiple systems into meaningful data sets.
- Maintains current knowledge of reimbursement issues, opportunities and trends occurring in healthcare that effect Skagit Regional Health.
- Effectively supports functional team through cross training and knowledge sharing opportunities. Provides continuous process improvement and best practice guidance and understanding and participates materially in various department and organizational process improvement activities as appropriate to role.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree with course work in accounting, business administration or related field required.
- Master’s Degree in related field preferred.
Experience/Training:
- Minimum five (5) years current healthcare Finance or Accounting experience required.
- Minimum five (5) years recent hospital and clinic cost reporting experience required.
- Minimum five (5) years recent experience with Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement programs including 340B, IME/GME and CPE or similar Medicaid programs.
- Experience in developing Net revenue and Contractual Reserves is strongly desired.

Pay: $39.86 - $59.79 per hour
