Our team is growing! Opala is seeking an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to build and maintain a safe, reliable, and performant software platform. This position will play an essential role in the success of our projects, from the early stages of solution planning, analysis and design through implementations and operations. You will be part of an Agile engineering team, designing and implementing our technology platform roadmap and features. You will work with other engineers and other product owners to meet critical business and technology objectives.

Salary/Benefits: The Seattle base salary range for this full-time position is $137k-$181k. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, EAP, short-term and long-term disability, 16 days PTO, 8 paid holidays, fully paid holiday closure, parental and family medical leave, 401k, stock options and annual bonuses and salary increases based on merit.
Responsibilities
- Partner effectively with PM and other developers to design and implement meeting the spirit of requirements.
- Write code (product and test) to deliver against project timeline, quality, and requirements.
- Design software components (functionality, defect fixes, tests) that form part of a larger solution, in line with team objectives.
- Define test scenarios and test cases to ensure the quality of the team’s deliverables.
Competencies
- 5+ years of professional development experience using Python, Java, Javascript and/or Go
- Proven work experience as a front-end developer using React and/or Flutter
- RDBMS experience
- Experience working with and building enterprise-scale data platforms
- Strong problem-solving skills and expertise in data structures and algorithms
- Experience building scalable systems and architectures
- Server-side application development and cloud technologies
- Experience using and creating RESTful APIs
