See Yourself as a Senior Systems Engineer
The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for maintaining one or more operating systems and associate software and hardware platforms. Performs operating systems installs, patching, and upgrades as requested. Participates in projects as required. Monitors performance of systems and actively participates in triage of performance, software, and hardware problems to resolution. Monitors server storage and takes appropriate action when LUNS are below established free space levels. Participates in DR exercises as required. Must be available as needed for off-hours support. Monitors Infra request queue and takes action as appropriate. Submits change requests as required. Monitors backups as required and takes appropriate corrective action as failures occur. Manages server storage and creates/de-commissions disk logical units as requested. Proactively creates and maintains scripts to enhance the performance and integrity of the operating system and associated software products. Maintains a proactive understanding of most recent releases of operating system and associated software/firmware and recommends upgrades as appropriate. Participates in planning for future installations and may coordinate efforts with other team members.
See Your Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Installs, maintains, configures, and updates O/S and O/S related software.
Monitors and responds to Infra tickets, enters Change Management records, and follows predictive course of action relating to those activities.
Plans and schedules software and firmware upgrades with supporting documentation.
Provides off-hours support for triage and break-fix scenarios. Logs failure calls with appropriate vendors and coordinates repair.
Works on project teams as required. Participates in DR exercises as required.
Monitors systems performance and error logging and takes appropriate action when problems occur.
Proactively creates scripts to enhance performance and notification of events.
Provisions storage Logical Unit Numbers as required and monitors disk space utilization.
Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.

Your Basic Education and Prior Work-Related Experience:
Degree Requirement: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
Work Experience: 8 or more years of prior work-related experience
Additional Qualifications:
Demonstrable expert level systems engineering/administration experience.
Expert level knowledge of complimentary software tools and products.
Ability to triage operating systems and hardware related problems to resolution.
Works well and communicates effectively with others.
Demonstrable scripting skills.
Must be very detail oriented.
Must be able to multitask.
