Job description
The Senior Payroll Specialist will provide comprehensive support regarding the day-to-day payroll function ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. The Senior Payroll Specialist will also perform accounts payable duties with accuracy and timeliness to assure positive business relations with vendors. The Specialist plans, organizes, and establishes objectives/goals for work assigned while maintaining confidentiality with a high level of integrity. The position will perform general administrative functions related to payroll or accounting administration.
We are seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist for the Saltsburg PA area.
Payroll
- Administer in-house payroll for business unit, including all monthly, quarterly and annual tax filings.
- Ensure that all federal, state, local laws, and corporate payroll-related compliance matters are proactively managed.
- Act as a direct resource to all levels of employees regarding payroll processes and procedures.
- End to End Processing of Company s Payroll – Including but not limited to:
- Review of Daily Time Entries
- Process Weekly Payroll
- Direct Deposit Transmissions
- Garnishment Maintenance / Payroll Deduction Checks (when applicable)
- Weekly/Monthly Payroll Reports (Including Certified Payrolls)
- Payroll Tax Remittance and Reporting – Weekly, Quarterly, Annual
- W-2 Reconciliation and Printing
- Group Medical/Dental Insurance Administration, including COBRA when applicable
- 401k Employee Investment Administration
- Employee File(s) I-9 and W-4 Maintenance and compliance
- All Relative PR YE Reports/Files for Auditors for current locations
- PTO Tracking
- Supplemental Unemployment Benefit plan administration
- Participate in internal audits
- Provide Support for all departments and projects to assist in their Payroll needs
- Coordinate with local staff to assure smooth processing of the company s PR functions.
- Prepare weekly cash requirements report
Accounts Payable
- Create and manage purchase orders
- Collect delivery confirmations
- Collect invoice approvals (when applicable)
- Process vendor payments
Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential):
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of payroll-related practices and procedures
- General knowledge of Accounting principles
- Well-organized with ability to multi-task.
- Computer skills and knowledge of office software packages including Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including strong analytical abilities
- Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with associates
- Strong knowledge of payroll technical subjects or ability to research/ask for help
