Seeking an IT professional for the Philadelphia area who already provides as-needed support services to various businesses.

Responsibilities will include:

• Providing as-needed technical support (Tier 1) to corporate end-users over the telephone, in-person and via remote sessions.
• Providing as-needed technical support to (Tier 2) to corporate IT professionals over the telephone, in-person and via remote sessions.
• Responding to emergency support requests for network and end-user system availability issues
• Performing as-needed maintenance on network and end-user systems
• Other projects and tasks as requested

Minimum candidate requirements:

• Experience requirements:
• Expertise in critical thinking, problem solving and independently researching and diagnosing issues
• Expertise with Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems (Legacy operating systems, Windows 7/10)
• Expertise with Microsoft Windows network operating systems (Legacy network operating systems, Windows Server 2008/2012/2012-R2/2016/2019)
• Expertise/familiarity with entering commands using command prompt, powershell, telnet, CLI, etc...
• Expertise with fundamental end-user applications/devices (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, Adobe Acrobat, antivirus/antimalware software, printers, scanners, etc...)

• Proficiency with networking systems/concepts (firewalls, switches, routers, backup systems, TCP/IP, VLANs, Internet, etc...)
• Proficiency with advanced multi-vendor hardware configurations (Legacy & Current Hardware, RAID, SAS Bus, iSCSI, Thunderbolt, etc.)
• Proficiency with networking applications (Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL, etc...)
• Proficiency with fundamental security concepts
• Education requirements: Bachelor's Degree in IT/Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Travel requirements: Must possess drivers license and have reliable transportation available. Will be primarily responsible for servicing clients in and around Philadelphia PA, but opportunities to service client sites anywhere in the U.S. may become available.

• Criminal history requirements: Must be of good moral character with the ability to pass FBI background checks and PA child abuse clearance check.
• Other requirements: excellent communication (verbal, writing) skills, high ethical standards, ability to reasonably move/lift/relocate computer equipment, and premier customer service skills

Finalists will be asked to take and share their Kolbe-A index results and will be asked to take a critical thinking skills assessment.

Note - there are no minimum or guaranteed number of hours per week for this position. The ideal candidate will be a freelance IT professional who can be available for technical support issues or projects on short notice. Applicants will be required to pass one or more background checks.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
