Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Buyer to join the Starline Team in Canonsburg, PA. The Senior Buyer will be responsible for maintaining contract and purchasing processes, compliance of purchasing and contracting to company standards, creation and visibility of supplier list, and oversight of contract compliance including proper contract usage and authorized signers. Additionally, s/he will perform tasks associated with ordering and expediting finished goods, components, packaging materials, raw materials, and MRO commodities. Pro-active and direct communication with suppliers is vital. Process purchase orders (PO's), place and expedite orders, and resolve related problems of significant complexity.
This is a HYBRID position in our Canonsburg, PA office

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Buyer to join the Starline Team in Canonsburg, PA. What Will You Do?
- Develop market related category management strategies for the assigned commodities to identify and implement productivity improvements and opportunities to enhance supplier rationalization. Assess risk management and mitigation strategies to ensure delivery needs are met.
- Represent the global SME/POC for Starline related category management challenges requiring support. Lead supplier discussions or support Remote site needs, as appropriate.
- Support or lead the training of buyer/planners or new buyers, as needed.
- Drive profits using cost saving strategies and project management skills to effectively lower manufacturing costs while contributing to product development and design
- Monitors trends in the service supply or product markets, as well as monitors service levels and takes corrective action when necessary.
- Contribute to the implementation of standardization and ensure usage of globally defined methods, processes, and systems to ensure high process efficiency and process compliance
- Performs research concerning product availability, alternative suppliers, value analysis, and user references as needed.
- Obtains competitive bids when appropriate. Negotiates price, purchase terms, and cost of equipment life cycle.
- Prepares excel cost analysis reports detailing cost of goods analysis, potential rebate structures, and discounting levels.
- Routinely works with department heads to advise and recommend alternatives to requested products.
- Expedites orders delayed due to vendor or manufacturer backorders, credit holds, or emergency requirements and obtains acceptable substitutes as required.
- Serve as point of contact for questions from both internal and external customers pertaining to status of contract and routing/signature status
- Updates job knowledge by participating in trade shows and educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Participate in special Kaizen projects and internal functional committees, as assigned
- Plans work and personal development goals, working in conjunction with manager as needed
- Performs other procurement-related administrative tasks including, but not limited to, invoice discrepancy resolution, payment authorizations, compiling statistical data and reports, maintaining partnership meeting minutes, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Management or equivalent experience
- CPM/PMP/APICS (CPIM or CSCP) certification preferred
- 7 years' experience purchasing materials in a manufacturing environment.
- MRP or ERP software experience, Infor Cloud preferred
- Defined and proven negotiation skills that have resulted in realized cost savings
- Global sourcing experience of a high concentration in steel or copper markets preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
- Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
- The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection.
- Regularly required to stand; walk and communicate with others
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time; ability to fly for extended periods of time
- Able to lift and carry up to 25lbs
