Job Location
SUMMARY
Responsible for providing security for all services of the Beans & Bread Center and maintaining a safe, peaceful, and respectful atmosphere both inside and outside of the Center and on a daily basis. Assures that all janitorial tasks for the building are completed in a satisfactory manner.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Provides security for all activities and services on a daily basis, including rotating inside and outside of the facility and addressing client disciplinary issues as required under the supervision of the Security Facility Coordinator.
- Responds to client crisis situations using CPI methods of intervention, and completes all necessary documentation related to incident including client disciplinary log and incident reports.
- Manages the reception area including greeting and signing-in all guests and visitors, answering and directing calls and taking messages.
- Assures that Daily/Weekly/Monthly Schedule of Janitorial Tasks for the building are completed in a satisfactory and timely manner per posted schedule, including ensuring that all bathrooms are clean and have sufficient supplies on a daily basis.
- Responsible for storing janitorial supplies in proper location maintains inventory of all janitorial supplies and submits order requests to the Security Facility Coordinator.
- Conducts daily neighborhood and security trash patrols as identified and scheduled by the Security Facility Coordinator.
SECONDARY DUTIES
- Provides direction to volunteers in the B&B meal program in carrying out identified janitorial tasks.
- Inspects building for needed repairs and report needs to the Security Facility Coordinator.
- Assists with the pick-up of donations and identifies food orders as needed.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- Participates in staff meetings and other meetings as requested.
- Upholds the vision, mission and values of St. Vincent de Paul.
- Assists with and attends special events held by the Center and St. Vincent de Paul as necessary.
- Supports a welcoming and positive environment for volunteers and works with them effectively.
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Ability and willingness to relate with others in a respectful manner and work well as a team member.
- Ability to organize oneself, ones work, and other persons sufficiently to accomplish the required daily tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- One-year related security facility experience preferred.
- Prior experience in non-violent crisis intervention a plus.

__X___MEDIUM WORK: Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects up to 25 pounds.
_____HEAVY WORK: Lifting 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects no more than 50 pounds.
Other:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with two (2) years' experience in the foodservice industry.
- Ability to relate in a respectful, comfortable, non-judgmental manner with persons from all ethnic, socio-economic, religious backgrounds and sexual orientations. C. An understanding and respect for the confidentiality of clients.
- Ability to stand, walk and sit for extended periods of time if required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Office365 productivity software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)
- Willing and able to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings and some weekends
- Willing and able to travel to two different work sites as needed.
- Desire and ability to work as a team player.
- Required to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
