Job Summary
The seasonal customer service assistant will be responsible for performing general clerical/secretarial duties including typing, answering telephones, taking registrations, and other related work as required. Essential Functions
The seasonal customer service assistant will:
Will be required to have a physical presence and regular and reliable attendance.
Greet customers in the facility and on the telephone with excellent public relation skills. Works directly with the public and tactfully handles questions, concerns, or complaints properly.
Takes orders and prepare food items, following all South Dakota Department of Health guidelines and food safety standards.
Types/completes letters, reports, rosters, forms, and other information that may be confidential according to department procedures.
Handles monetary transactions for concessions and front desk.
Provides back-up for office positions.
Operates computer, facility software, cash register, calculator, copier, and other office equipment.
Conducts informational tours of the facility for the public.
Performs opening and closing procedures including inventory, cleaning and food preparation functions.
Follows written and oral directives appropriately.
Learns and follows all city-established safety practices and personnel policies.

~ Ability to follow and deliver both verbal and written instructions.
~ Ability to be tactful, courteous, and effective with the public and co-workers.
~ Knowledge of clerical/secretarial procedures.
~ Skills to operate general office equipment.
~ Knowledge to operate personal computer to perform essential functions.
~ Ability to work independently deal tactfully and effectively with co-workers and the general public.
~ Ability to enforce Rec & Aquatics Center rules.
~ Possess excellent public relation skills.
Minimum Qualifications
~ Must be 16 years of age or older
~ Possess a valid driver"s license with an insurable driving history.
Physical Requirements:
~ Stand for long periods of time.
~ Lift, move, and stock food/beverage items up to 35 pounds. Full Position Description
