The Safety Coordinator will provide industrial and occupational safety support to the facility ensuring all practices are in compliance with federal, state and local regulatory requirements.

• Ensure compliance with established regulations and customer requirements, including GMPs as listed in 21 CFR 111 and 117, and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) scheme;
• Continually analyze and conduct risk assessments to determine and ensure the company complies with relevant state and federal regulations. Including but not limited to OSHA, EPA and Fire codes and standards;
• Oversees TOSHA practices; administer/implement TOSHA programs and policies as outlined by federal, state and local regulatory agencies as appropriate;
• Support all regulatory inspections with TOSHA records and files;
• Oversee all safety programs, practices, and policies to ensure the communication of clear expectations;
• Lead, foster and develop a culture where safety is ingrained as a core value;
• Support the implementation of projects and new equipment;
• Track and trend safety measures, including visual charts and provide regular progress reports;
• Responsible for organizing, conducting and assisting in the training and development of Safety training programs and communications;
• Participate and facilitate incident investigations with leadership, identify and help implement processes and corrective measures to prevent reoccurrence;
• Ensures safety inspections, audits and observations are conducted and make technical recommendations for safety improvements throughout the facility, ensuring deficiencies are corrected in a timely manner;
• Meet goals and objectives as outlined by the Leadership team;
• Follow cGMP guidelines and processes as established in department SOPs;
• Perform other duties as deemed necessary.

• 4-year degree in a business related field with related experience preferred;
• Professional Certification preferred;
• High level of enthusiasm for safety and the ability to create and lead a safety culture;

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.;
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time;
• Ability to wear any required PPE such as scrubs, hair net, lab coat, and facemask;
• Ability to work in a packaging area with a moderate powder substance in the air with or without a respirator;
• Ability to work around a variety of different smells and aromas;
• Ability to view a computer screen and type for extended hours;
• Must be able to make frequent rounds in a warehouse environment;
• Other physical requirements include moderate standing and occasional squatting, bending, and twisting
• Ability to adjust work schedule as business needs require.
