Software Engineer for RWD
The Real-World Data (RWD) Software Engineer focuses on supporting real-world data solutions across R&D. RWD Software Engineer will work closely with the Real-World Data team to optimize, build, and test current technology solutions that address critical business needs within existing projects. The RWD Software Engineer will help design, develop, maintain and test new features and improve and assist with current features. An RWD Software Engineer will support the use of various types of data such as: claims, electronic health records, survey, registry studies, etc.


Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate high proficiency across a wide range of technologies and platforms related to data model design and development, programming languages, data integration, data optimization, software data storage.
  • Work with project team to develop and test modules fit for purpose with the intent on reusability, scalability, and performance at the core of the design.
  • Write highly efficient, testable, quality code
  • Dissect and understand multi-module layered solutions with both a front end and back end
  • Provide technical assistance to team for planning, methods, procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Analyze and resolve technical problems and bugs using analytical problem-solving methods/techniques and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and Document software solutions through code and Object Oriented design.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and the Real World Data Team on software development
  • Succeed as a key contributor and take ownership for work
  • Automate processes and solve difficult challenges using coding expertise and practical solutions
  • Learn from others and help others grow
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle
  • Ability to communicate clearly in both writing and visuals
  • Highly motivated and self-directed, excited about developing and being part of a project group

Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Fluency in python programming, specifically for Object-Oriented design (both reading and writing)
  • Demonstrates proficiency in SQL (both reading and writing)
  • Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, HDFS - EMR, Cloudera
  • Understanding of Claims Data structures and the Pharmaceutical Industry more broadly
  • Experience with Cohort Studies and Statistics
  • Some experience with source control and working with others to produce a software product or deliverable
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on rapport building and listening capabilities
  • Full-Stack software development
