Scripps Cardiologists play a vital role in evaluating patients, prescribing medications and working closely with heart treatment specialists and surgeons. Scripps Health:

• Provide care at four receiving center emergency rooms for STEMI (the most severe heart attack), as well as urgent care centers where even the smallest symptoms of a heart attack can be recognized
• Participate in research to improve heart care, including leading-edge studies for left atrial appendage closure, valve repair and replacement, stem cells and genomic testing for cholesterol-reducing drugs
• Offer minimally invasive treatment options and surgical options, including robot-assisted procedures
• Offer heart care specifically for women, by women cardiologists, at the Scripps Women’s Heart Center

As RN - Specialized Services - Cardiovascular Surgery at Scripps, you will ensure Scripps patients and their families have an exceptional health care experience. Provide direct patient care to high acuity patients in a complex department within the scope of practice. Engage in complex clinical procedures and may provide clinical assessments to surgical patients in the hospital setting. Patient care includes compliance with patient assessments and care tasks, triaging, completion of clinical procedures, emergency protocols and medication administration. Work collaboratively with the other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.

This is a Per Diem Days position located in La Jolla.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

• At least 1 year RN experience.

• ADN or Nursing Diploma

• CA RN license

• American Heart Association BLS and ACLS.

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

• BSN

• At least 1 year of RN experience in Cardiology, preferably CV Surgery.
