Wildcat Discoveries is looking for a highly motivated Research Associate to join our team! This position directly supports out high-throughput team by preparing materials, executing planned experiments, and analyzing experimental data.

DESCRIPTION

Job Summary

The main purpose of this job is to participate in research projects by preparing materials, executing planned experiments, and analyzing experimental data.

Prepare research experiments including ordering input materials, synthesizing materials, and assembling cells, test equipment and materials as required.

Monitor the status of research experiments in progress, identifying unusual activity or results on a timely basis.

Manage experimental data files, reviewing for completeness and accuracy. Perform preliminary data processing and prepare draft data plots.

Rapidly scale up new energy storage materials from research quantities (grams) to customer sample quantities (kilograms), maintaining material properties and quality

Utilize analytical tools and equipment to characterize materials.

Respect others in the workplace with a professional attitude; be considerate of others with housekeeping, shared equipment; provide a safe working environment for others.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Laboratory experience including excellent working knowledge of scientific protocol.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent problem-solving skills.

Ability to position, prioritize and execute multiple, competing demands and tasks concurrently.

Experience with electrochemical material characterization.

Experience with energy storage materials, particularly batteries preferred.

Experience in a high throughput combinatorial chemistry laboratory preferred.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, physics or other relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience working in laboratory on research and development projects focusing in li-ion batteries
  • Expereince with managing, training, or teaching a plus

SALARY RANGE

$75,000 to $100,000
