Telemetry Nurse

Unit Description

38 bed unit that is staffed with RN's, CNA's, Critical Care Techs (CCTs) and Advanced Care Techs (ACTs). Patient ratios are determined by patient acuity/workload and are typically 1:4 up to 1:6. CCTs monitor ECG rhythms on all telemetry patients 24/7. ACTs assist with transport, admit and discharge tasks, IV and Foley insertion, ADLs, and limited medication administration. Ancillary staff includes, but is not limited to Rapid Response Team, phlebotomists, EKG technicians, and Respiratory Therapists. Patient population includes treatment of CHF, Alcohol Withdrawal, NSTEMI's, sepsis, dysrhythmias, PNA, COPD, Covid, care of the post-procedure patients including pacemakers, ablations, and cath lab procedures, and OHS patients once downgraded from ICU. Medications include non-titratable cardiac medication drips (Cardizem, Lasix, Nitro, etc).

We utilize an online scheduling platform called SmartSquare for all staff members. Time off must be approved before hire to be guaranteed. Required: 1 extra shift and 4 weekend shifts in a four week schedule period. Available to work 2 major holidays. May float to Intensive Care Units for a telemetry/medical appropriate assignment, medical-surgical units, as well Renown South Meadows.
Non-Negotiables

BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Certification Preferably two years of nursing experience. Minimum of one year is required. Experience with Open Heart Surgery patients preferred but not required.
Education: Preferably a Bachelors, ADN is acceptable.
Must pass a telemetry competency exam to include identifying and measuring telemetry rhythms strips.
