Bailey Medical Center offers a full range of medical services, including general surgery, maternity, gynecology, bariatrics, orthopedics and emergency care. The 73-bed hospital, the largest in Owasso, is one of the most technologically advanced hospitals in the region.
Responsibilities:
1. Maintains professional friendly attitude with patients, families, and coworkers. Represents the Ardent Service Excellence standards in quality and customer service.
2. Obtains, reviews and/or communicates all pertinent data regarding patient to surgeon and anesthesiologist to ensure patient safety.
3. Accurately prepares the patient for entry to the OR Suite by utilizing appropriate nursing skills such as IV starts, administering medications, venipunctures, chart assembly and assisting with anesthesia procedures.
4. Ensures prior to the planned procedure that all necessary laboratory and other required tests and documents are included in the chart and verified on the preoperative checklist.
5. Reviews active nursing diagnosis for duration of patient’s surgical experience to ensure continuation of care.
6. Enhances patient safety by utilizing Universal Protocol and completes the required documentation concisely and legibly. Performs and documents required “Time Out” as appropriate.
7. Manages post-operative care through performance of technical skills as related to PACU. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs in the PACU environment. Maintains and utilizes critical care skills as needed.
8. Utilizes appropriate critical thinking skills to solve everyday problems.
9. Maintains teamwork relationship by willingness to float/flex to other Surgical Services areas as previously oriented.
10. Covers call without incident.

Education:
ADN or BSN
ADN or BSN
Knowledge/ Skill/Abilities: Registered Nurse
Experience: 1 year in a surgical setting
Licensure/
Certification: Oklahoma or applicable Multi-state RN license (upon hire)
BLS (upon hire)
ACLS (within 30 days of hire)
PALS (within 30 days of hire)
