Position Summary:
The Manager has a 24-hour, 7 day a week responsibility to provide leadership for the cost center (s). This includes planning, organizing, staff development, performance management, throughput, service, quality, fiscal and information management, regulatory compliance, building and enhancing relationships through customer and peer relations, and appropriate professional involvement. The manager is accountable for the management of the cost center(s) within the established budget. The manager will work closely with medical directors, medical department chairs, physicians, administration, and other disciplines to develop services and ensure quality, safety, service, and growth. Ensures all standards and compliance are met with local EMSA, MICN, and ACS Level III Trauma requirements. Manager attends and leads department and disease specific meetings, including Emergency Medical Staff meeting. Works autonomously to establish benchmarks for success, and reporting these out to appropriate committees. Ensures facilitation of education for staff, patients, community, and or families. Responsible and ensures regulatory compliance with the Positive Therapy program throughout the facility. Works autonomously, with detail, clear communication and loop closure, and performs other duties as assigned. Service lines/cost centers aren't to be split with manager. Manager is to be manager of all cost centers and service lines with director. Access to all Patient Health Information.

Education:
Required: A.S. or Equivalent
Preferred: M.A./M.S.
Knowledge & Skills:
Required:
Current RN licensure in the State of California
Current American Heart Association BLS (maintain current at all times); ACLS, PALS
Desired: Three years managerial experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Effective verbal and written communication skills to communicate with people at all age levels, able to maintain positive working relationships with patients, families, co-workers and physicians inter- and intra-departmentally. Possess active listening skills. Demonstrates knowledge of current nursing theory and practice. Compassionate, non-judgmental patient caregiver and advocate. Must be able to tolerate physically and mentally demanding work. Ability to set both short and long term goals and meet these goals; Analytical ability to identify opportunities for improvement and resolution. Teaching skills to promote optimum orientation and continuing staff education. The Manager maintains knowledge of healthcare trends for both inpatient and outpatient populations and demonstrates the ability to apply this knowledge in clinical and administrative settings.
Pay Range: $53.73 - $85.94
Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and experience
