SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Reservation & Information Clerk must work closely w/traveling public as a member of the Amtrak team. Duties include working in passenger lounges, information areas, answering phones, making public address announcements. Will direct the flow of passenger traffic and assist in the boarding areas for gate control.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Walk platforms and trains to assist elderly, disabled, and groups
• Use radio equipment as outlined by Amtrak
• Understand the train operating system
• Required to assist misconnect passenger’s w/alternate arrangements: bus, airline, rental car, or hotel accommodations
• Accurately write Emergency Exchange Vouchers
• Comply w/Amtrak’s Standards of Excellence, safety rules, uniform policies, and all other policies and procedure
• Willing to work beyond assigned tour of duty due to the requirements of service

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Must be proficient in Rail Res by end of qualifying period

COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

The hourly range is $ 23.61-$31.48 (with opportunity for increases, as per the applicable collective bargaining agreement, after beginning employment). If an applicant/employee refuses to provide written consent for Amtrak to obtain these records, the individual will not be permitted to perform safety-sensitive functions.
