Job description
Pavestone, a manufacturer of Concrete Pavers, Segmental Retaining Walls, and related Concrete products for commercial, residential, contractor, industrial, and retail customers is seeking a Quality Supervisor for its Pedricktown, NJ facility.
Responsibilities:

Quality Data - collects and/or ensures the collection of:
  • Sieve analysis and other required tests on in-use and prospective aggregates.
  • Mill reports and samples of in-use and prospective cementitious materials.
  • Tests on fresh concrete including height, density, and moisture content.
  • Quality Audits of manufacturing processes and finished goods in the plant, yard, and reseller locations.
  • Finished goods testing, meeting frequency, and product specifications.

Analysis:
  • Technically qualifies new suppliers/materials with collaboration and oversight of the corporate technology group.
  • Monitors data to identify trends and issues in raw material quality.
  • Assists with cull/scrap rate analysis and reduction.
  • Investigates product quality complaints and credit/warranty claims.
  • Identifies, segregates, and dispositions non-conforming products.
  • Leads root cause analysis of defect mechanisms; conducts experiments to verify cause and countermeasure effectiveness.

Administration:
  • Maintains current and historical mix design and color recipe files.
  • Ensures logs, files, and reports related to quality are complete, organized, and maintained.
  • Tracks and reports progress/status of action items affecting the quality.
  • Maintains testing equipment in proper working order.
  • Trains plant staff in testing procedures and actions when targets are not achieved.
  • Ensures that any non-conforming product is properly identified for a decision on disposition by the local management team.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications:
  • A four-year degree is preferred. Progress toward a four-year degree, two-year technical degree, or commensurate experience is acceptable.
  • Good analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Must be able to wear safety glasses, respirators, rubber gloves, and hearing protection in required situations.
  • Must be able to work at elevation and in partially confined situations.
  • Must be able to lift products, materials, and equipment as necessary to perform the job.
  • Must be able to work with limited supervision.
