You will report to our Manufacturing Engineering Manager. You will oversee all production processes, ensuring they can consistently produce a product that meets our specifications and quality requirements.

You will perform several activities, which affect production costs (primarily), our product quality and employee safety. Have detailed knowledge of most mechanical and electrical systems. May be recognized as a Corporation-wide expert on specific equipment or processes.

You may be accountable for coordinating or leading multiple projects or teams concurrently, working with and through all disciplines. You will also lead our teams to analyze manufacturing problems and will develop alternative cost-efficient approaches to their problems.

Another level of this position deals with procedural aspects of manufacturing and reporting. You will conduct systematic audits of operations and records of labor and material usage, identifies variances from standards, and works with engineers and production supervisors to correct them.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Audit and prepare written reports of operations identifying potential cost reductions, procedural and material variances; estimate project feasibility.
• Analyze production processes, schedules, methods, and metrics providing management with data to understand future state requirements.
• Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
• Review and calculate labor, material and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision-making.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance services and make sure that manufacturer's procedures and industry best practices are followed to keep production equipment operational.

• Work independently or with engineers and vendors, investigate and develop solutions for process limitations and cost reductions.

• Prepare written procedures to assure safe use of material and equipment.
• Design fixtures and special application tools through maintenance and tool room employees or through outside vendors to acquire fixtures and tools.
• Support manufacturing with understanding and application of several plant-specific software, such as SAP, Solid Edge, turret / laser software, Sigmanest, and MP-2.
• Oversee several plant -related projects involving company employees and outside contractors.
• Support and remain committed to plant safety, and plays an active part in safety meetings.

• Play key role in cost reduction, waste minimization, product and process FMEAS, and ISO.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline with 0+ years Engineering experience is desired.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

The physical job requirements for the position of Manufacturing Engineer include being able to do the following: occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, stand for less than 4 hours per day, sit for more than 4 hours per day, occasionally grasp items with either hand, and walk for less than 4 hours per day.
