POSITION SUMMARY:

This position strives to improve the yield of MEMS inkjet products by focusing on enhancing process control, eliminating defects and strengthening quality control. Daily goals are to initiate and support production yield and quality improvement by utilizing data gathering/interpretation, data visualization and defect analysis. A quality engineer will support the development of next generation MEMS devices; provide technical support and guidance for process sustaining and development activities, and participate in ensuring ISO compliance.


KNOWLEDGE:
A new professional or recent graduate with a background in STEM. Familiarity with data analysis and statistics are necessary. General knowledge of process & quality control, database extraction (SQL, Tableau), and MEMs/Semiconductor processing are preferred. Most importantly, this role requires someone who resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways by collaborating with highly technical teams. This job is a fully qualified, career-oriented position.


JOB COMPLEXITY:
Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Employs methods of data visualization to enhance understanding. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.


SUPERVISION:
Supervisors tailor their style to match role, experience, and situation, but management style is conversational with an open door policy. Work/project proposals are welcome from any position level. FDMX employees are good self-starters, but should seek help or information from peers, supervisors, or subject matter experts whenever needed.


EXPERIENCE:
New graduates or entry level professionals with 0-5 years of experience. Bachelor’s degree; or a Master's degree.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


  • Ensure product yield and quality are keeping pace with the continuous improvement roadmap. Propose innovative ideas, procedures, metrology which will lead to enhancement of MEMS products and associated manufacturing.
  • Participate in NPI (New Product Introduction), fab wide programs such as capacity expansion, and other strategic initiatives to keep MEMS products and their quality competitive in the industry.
  • Use data driven and statistical analysis approaches to evaluate and improve product performance. Employ techniques of data visualization to communicate trends, findings and concerns. Periodically report and present performance metrics to key stakeholders.
  • Organize and lead teams to address the root cause, take corrective actions, and propose preventive actions in an event of excursions or quality incident
  • Assist in investigating non-conformances, determine root cause and assign corrective and preventive actions with production or development team.
  • Work with development teams to transfer designs into production with good quality assurance.
  • Address internal or external customer quality concerns, identify root cause of quality issues or excursions, and propose solutions.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure company quality systems are maintained as per ISO9001standards.Help with the quality training for employees, conduct internal audits as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in STEM (i.e. Physics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering, or similar)
  • Basic statistic knowledge and skills, such as Gage R&R, Cpk, SPC, and DOE. Know how to use data analysis results to do trouble shooting and solve problems.
  • Project management and team building skills
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with diverse engineering and production teams
  • Capacity to perform high level data analysis and prepare clear data visualizations.


DESIRED:

  • Proficiency in data analytics tools and packages such as JMP, Tableau, Minitab.
  • Prior experience or exposure to semiconductor/MEMS fabrication processes such as photolithography, etching, and thin film deposition. Familiarity with defect detection and failure analysis methods.
  • Have knowledge and experience of quality control and assurance in a volume production. Understand the quality assurance concepts, tools, and industry standards. Such as QC 7 tools, FMEA, Six Sigma, and other quality tools.
  • Knowledge in MEMS especially in piezoelectric resonators, sensors, or actuators
  • Familiarity with database communication languages such as SQL
  • Six Sigma black belt and ISO9001 internal auditor certification
  • Exposure to Quality Systems tools such as ISO9001, ISO14001. Concepts include PDCA, control of change, control of nonconforming, and corrective action (CAPA).
