Description:

The person in this role will select equipment and areas for tests at specified stages in the sanitation and production process and will review and supply reports to appropriate personnel for evaluation; Record test data and results, applying established quality control procedures; Monitor overall on-line quality and food safety systems including all Critical Control Points (CCP) as per HACCP plan;
Prepares and evaluates ingredient shelf life reports, retain and maintain samples for finished goods and raw materials. Collects, reviews, and maintains files of all documentation relating to production and quality control. Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
Responsible for collecting quality data and running analysis of the product.
Reviews and maintains digital file of required certificates of analysis and specifications for ingredients received. Assist in preparations of all 3rd party audits including in-house, supplier and SQF.
Train personnel on GMP, HACCP, Allergen control and all other pertinent Quality systems if practices are not followed. Monitor production, raw materials and finished product for Safety or Quality deviations and report non-conformances to superior(s). Monitor and check raw materials received against product specification and release product if attributes are within specification.
Verification of outgoing codes (sell by date) on both unit and case.
Responsible for metal detector verification & contamination log.
Sanitation verification. Internal auditing (allergen control.)

Schedule:

  • 8-12 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday, rotating weekends.
  • Evenings

Qualifications:

Experience with food safety and quality compliance in a manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel;
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, Food Safety, SOP, Pest control, Food Safety. (Must have some familiarity. Training will be provided.)
Ability to work in a plant (product floor level) environment for extended periods of time (able to work in warm and cooler temperature). Must be able to lift 30 pounds and work overtime as needed and rotating weekends.
Able to maintain a discreet level of professionalism. This is a position of leadership and authority. Consider yourself food police, Will be held to a higher standard of conduct than production level workers.
Desire to learn and apply knowledge.
