Job description
The Technical Ceramics business of Morgan Advanced Materials engineers high performance functional and structural ceramic materials, components and sub-assemblies to address customer-specific technical challenges.

- Collaborates with various internal departments to ensure that they fulfill all customer requests
- Verifies purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to the master list and recommends alternatives.
- Secures approval from requisitioning department and follows internal controls.
- Selects appropriate suppliers based on price, availability, necessity, quality, and logistical expenses and sends out RFQs for requested products and materials.
- Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and negotiating price, while obtaining recommendations from suppliers.
- Manages purchases by forwarding orders to suppliers and monitoring and expediting orders.
- Updates and maintains records of all orders, payments, and received stock and assists in resolving any delivery, and invoicing discrepancies.
- Coordinates with the delivery team and follows up on delays or orders that have been rescheduled.
- Assesses vendors and their offerings with in-person visits, interviews, and analysis to assess their quality and delivery capabilities.
- Submits new vendor setup requests.
- Provides purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Forwards available inventory items by verifying stock and delivering schedules.
- Establishes professional relationships with clients as well as vendors and suppliers.
- Ensures all stock is packaged appropriately and delivered to the correct location in a timely manner.

- Strong industry experience for accurate product/service quality assessment
- Accounting acumen
- 5 years’ experience working as a purchasing agent or similar position (preferred)
- CPP certificate or equivalent (highly preferred)
