Schedule: 11pm - 7am 3rd Shift

Pay: $75,000/yr based on experience

Production supervisor will have the primary responsibility for managing production employees, following safety and scheduling guidelines. He/she will be accountable for meeting department production, safety, quality, and employee engagement objectives.

The production supervisor will maintain all quality and safety programs to ensure the extruding team meets all applicable standards. There will be a collaboration with the production manager and the plant leadership team to establish annual goals and objectives for the facility, including areas pertaining to budget and productivity. This person will manage the team in accordance with the policies, practices, procedures and programs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify quality, safety, housekeeping, productivity and engagement issues. Using H.B. Fuller policies as a guideline, engage the team to understand root cause and develop possible solutions using a disciplined process improvement method.
  • Work to meet customer expectations regarding product quality and on-time, in-full production.
  • Participate in the facility meetings and actively support on-going plant committees (i.e. safety, quality, 5S, housekeeping, etc.).
  • Lead shift toolbox meetings - sharing safety, quality and production concerns and goals.
  • Monitor productivity of lines, checking accuracy of part numbers, labeling and scans including lot number and quantity information.
  • Audit accuracy of shop order reporting from the operators and reconcile shop orders in the system using the Adage program.
  • Communicate daily production achievements and issues to designated management team. Include steps taken to resolve production issues and delays.
  • Build and lead teams. Support development of employees.
  • Drive performance objectives through coaching and mentoring. Use the Performance Planning & Assessment (PPA) process for direct reports to summarize progress. Complete evaluations in a timely manner. Handle all corrective actions in a timely manner, in coordination with the production manager and Human Resources.

Minimum requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent coupled with a minimum of three years production experience or a 4-year degree.
  • 2+ years experience leading/supervising others and solving problems independently
  • Ability to work in a plant environment, walking, standing, stairs, heat, cold
  • Able to lift 40 pounds
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to plan and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical skills and fill in spreadsheets.
  • Business and financial acumen
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
