About the Position:

The production supervisor position is responsible for supervising shop employees, ensuring production schedule and KPIs are met, efficiency and effectiveness is maintained, and safety is apriority. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

• Ensure effective employee relations. Make employment recommendations to the Plant Manager. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution. Contribute toward employee development.
• Accomplish manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees as appropriate.
• Manage departmental performance measures to include employee training and provide regular progress reports to the Plant Manager.
• Supervise Production Staff:Conduct shift meetings
• Coach, mentor and guide employees to continuously improve
• Document employee training and performance
• Understand and support company policies and procedures
• Ensure company policies and procedures are supported and followed
• Monitor absenteeism and tardiness.
• Coordinate employee activities including work station assignments/rotations, breaks/Lunches, overtime assignments, employee PTO and time off schedule, cross-training.
• Balance safety, quality, productivity, cost and morale to achieve positive results in all responsible areas.
• Work to continuously improve in all areas.
• Work with Quality Control to ensure only products that meet the AWIP quality standards leave the plant.
• Verify all stations are correctly filling out QC Logs, and ensure quality checks are performed correctly, timely and documented completely.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Shipping Department to set the production schedule and trim schedule
• Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems.
• Verify scheduled production run against the BOM
• Monitor raw materials
• Initiate reorders of supplies
• Collaborate with Maintenance to maintain and improve plant performance

Prepare production reports

• Safety- Be the safety leader on the production floor; promote an active safety culture; stringently enforce all safety policies and procedures
• Correct all safety infractions immediately. Coordinate with Maintenance or other departments as appropriate
• Ensure all employees are aware of and follow safety rules
• Ensure work area is clean and safe
• Provide safety walk to new hires
• Perform initial accident investigations

• Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned and/or necessary.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

• Minimum education level: High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
• Must have two years supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting, or similar.
• Ability to sit, and stand for extended periods. Must be able to walk, climb, bend, lift, grasp, pinch, reach, twist, lean, lift, push, pull, and other physical movements necessary to perform duties assigned.
• Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment with extreme temperatures, noise, dust and other conditions typical of a manufacturing plant environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to verbally communicate effectively in English. Some stations require the ability to write or type effectively in English.
• Must be able to effectively use a computer and have basic proficiency in MS Excel.
• Must be able to use tools, equipment, machinery, etc.
• Must be reliable, dependable, and able to report to company location for assigned shifts.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $29.00 per hour
