SUMMARY

Supports efforts to maximize profitable growth of the Polyethylene business. Key role in supporting the development and execution of the annual and long-term business plans. Provides analysis and recommendations, working closely with Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Technology, Logistics, and Customer Experience to achieve the business goals. Tracks and analyzes production and demand data, customer pricing, business performance and many other aspects of the business. Stewards the balance between production and sales to ensure customer are adequately serviced and inventory is optimized. Develops business recommendations for product line improvements and new product development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Work closely with the S&OP team and business leadership, providing analysis and recommendations for schedule optimization and the management of short term forecast change requests.
• Provide price analysis in support of new business opportunities and alignment of existing accounts with annual business goals
• Ensures that contribution margin and manufacturing capability are key determining factors in establishing and maintaining product mix and customer base.
• Participate in the development of the forward view for the business, including threats and opportunities
• Supports the development of the annual business plan to optimize asset utilization in alignment with the PE long term strategy
• Works closely with sales, engineering, and production on the design, distribution and product specifications/changes as needed. Also handles tactical issues associated with service, sales, quality and/or supply chain as required.
• Provide monthly analysis of business performance vs plan to identify variations in key areas including market growth, sales volume, sales price, product cost/value, profitability, etc.
• Track and analyzes product order patterns, customer demand, and works with S&OP team to ensure customer requirements are being met at the lowest cost to serve. Maintains a strong understanding of the underlying cost components associated with the manufacturing, packaging, storage and delivery of our products
• Assists in providing market research analyses to ensure the necessary quantitative and qualitative data for plant expansions, product and market development, diversification and acquisitions are provided.
• Any additional responsibilities or tasks as assigned.
• Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
• Fully supports Company goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence at strategic and tactical levels including reviewing area of responsibility for improvement opportunities to initiate projects or communicate ideas to management as well as active participation on project teams.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor degree in technical or business related field.
• Minimum 7-10 years manufacturing, technical or business role is preferred.
• Incumbent must have strong analytical/modeling skills with experience in the chemical, petroleum, or manufacturing business.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint and be able to develop accurate, detailed analyses under time pressure.
• Must have effective verbal/written/presentation skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
