What is the role?

This leader will help develop and mentor a small team of Mortgage Sales Professionals. This role is twofold; Personal Production and the ability to develop and grow your own team. Requires strong leadership acumen and experience within the Mortgage Lending Industry. Sets day-to-day operational objectives for team.

  • Responsible for supporting a team of 4-6 mortgage loan officers in developing individual plans which support the overall organization strategy and align with desired volume levels.
  • Help build referral partners for their team and attend events to network and build new relationships.
  • Supports their team by being a subject matter expert and resource for loan programs, processes, and digital capabilities.
  • Conduct one on one weekly meetings to provide necessary guidance and support to achieve volume, profit, and quality objectives with respect to budgeted goals. Helps review progress quarterly as well.
  • Managing and oversight of pipeline for self and team to ensure locks are being managed appropriately and regulatory requirements are met for disclosures and decisioning.
  • Manage adoption acceptance of team for new software, new or changed products, new or changed processes to reinforce and support engagement
  • Work in conjunction with your branch partners to provide superior service to our members assisting them with their mortgage needs.
  • Develop and build referral relationships with external sources such as realtors, builders and others to proactively promote Westenra’s portfolio and secondary market mortgage products.
  • Conduct a thorough and detailed interview with members and potential new members to identify their financial needs. Evaluate and structure first and closed end second mortgage applications.
  • Initiate and guide members timely through a detailed and comprehensive loan application process in Blue Sage, the Credit Union’s Loan Operating System (LOS) according to established department policies, processes and procedures.
  • Analyze credit, run initial automated underwriting engine (DU) follow findings and/or company standards.
  • Obtain and review all documentation for completeness, accuracy and adherence to the Credit Union’s quality standards for due diligence and data integrity.
  • Ensure all appropriate disclosures and required documents are issued within the required timeframes to meet compliance standards including but not limited to HMDA, RESPA, Reg Z, and/or the Credit Union’s lending policies.
  • Communicate in a continuous and timely manner with all parties involved in the transaction (internal and external) to ensure clarity, according to Westenra’s established service standards. Properly document all communications in the LOS.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Meet outlined production requirements
  • Develops staff on specific projects and controls deployment of resources.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What I’m bringing…

Experience/Education:
  • 2 years of residential mortgage origination/industry experience
  • Previous leadership experience preferred
  • NMLS registration required upon hire
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

  • Exhibits strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills

What is the work environment like, and are there physical requirements for this role?

  • Travel would consist primarily of driving within the Greater Denver area
