POSITION SUMMARY

A Process Engineer III is responsible to design and develop chemical manufacturing processes, and to lead a team in manufacturing a variety of chemical intermediates and finished products. A Process Engineer III is a key member of our process development and manufacturing teams and will be assigned a variety of duties related to safe and efficient business operations.

SUCCESS CRITERIA

A successful candidate for an Impact Nano Process Engineer III will have extensive expertise in process design, chemical manufacturing, safety systems, and quality systems, while also being a dynamic and creative leader in developing new processes and solving complex problems. A Process Engineer III will have the capability to design new systems and lead a team to build new infrastructure and new capabilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learn and follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Design and layout chemical manufacturing processes
  • Oversee construction and installation of process and factory equipment
  • Develop chemical process control strategies
  • Program control systems with emphasis on personnel and facility safety
  • Define and execute performance tests and process validation
  • Support chemical manufacturing operations as a technical expert to operators
  • Support analytical systems team in sample collection, measurement, and product qualification
  • Participate in all safety aspects of chemical manufacturing
  • Participate in and comply with all Quality Systems requirements
  • Participate in site Emergency Response activities
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, or equivalent. Advanced Engineering degree preferred.
  • Minimum Experience required: Minimum 10 Years experience in chemical manufacturing, chemical process design and development, and/or chemical analytical systems.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Properly use and maintain PPE and follow PPE policies and rules. Note, must be able to fit test and use an air purifying respirator.
  • Must be able to access chemical manufacturing equipment, including frequent use of ladders and stairs.
  • Must be able to sustain extended periods of standing and sitting, as well as frequent kneeling, bending, and crouching.
  • Responsible for use of various hand tools and equipment to modify or repair equipment and facilities.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND COMPETENCIES

  • Technical Skills: Must have excellent computer literacy and must have demonstrated expertise in several of the following areas:
  • Chemical processes and common chemical manufacturing equipment.
  • Manufacturing process automation, controls, and programming
  • Chemical process field instrumentation and data collection systems
  • Chemical analysis equipment and manufacturing Quality Control
  • Manufacturing continuous improvement
  • Statistics and their application to manufacturing
  • Chemical process design and equipment specification
  • Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Program (RMP)
  • Project Management
  • Construction Management
  • Problem Solving: Must have demonstrated ability to trouble shoot and identify failure modes in chemical manufacturing process and equipment. Must have ability to collaborate cross-functionally and lead a team to solve complex manufacturing problems.
  • Teamwork: Strives for win/win solutions; co-operates with co-workers to achieve goals; provides support and encouragement to co-workers; brings substantive conflicts and disagreements into the open and attempts to resolve them collaboratively.
  • Organizational Skills: Must be able to coordinate tasks and resources (e.g. engineering/maintenance/operations) to complete job duties and project activities without negative impact to manufacturing.
  • Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate clear written and verbal instructions to a team of chemical manufacturing personnel. Must be able to communicate complex process and equipment design information to co-workers, business leaders, and vendors. You will be tasked with creating concise and accurate Standard Operator Procedures, that comply with company, regulator, and customer requirements.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
