Well Done Cooking Classes in Houston, TX is looking for a dynamic position of Prep Cook. This candidate loves teaching and entertaining guests while cooking in a friendly environment.

Responsibilities

Wash dishes quickly during cooking classes.

Follow recipes and prepare simple dishes

Sanitize and prepare equipment and workstation for cooking

Follow all food safety and sanitation protocols

Weigh and measure ingredients

Mix, wash, peel, chop, grind, strain, slice meat and vegetables

Basic cooking functions such as kneading dough, and preparing sauces

Label stock and inventory all ingredients

Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas

Thoroughly clean area, dishes, and prep stations.

Organize pantry area

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate and listen to team members
• Dedicated to working as a team towards one goal
• Experience as a Prep Cook a plus
• Customer-service first attitude!
• Strong work ethic in a fast-paced work environment
• Solid work history and great references
• Knife skills and a regard for food safety
• Capacity to stand for long periods of time and do some heavy lifting
• Ability to follow recipes in English
• Serv Safe Certification a must - if working towards certification please let us know

Education:

• High School Diploma required
• College degree in Education, Nutrition or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

Preferred Experience:

• Successful experience teaching or leading cooking classes or courses
• Public speaking in front of an audience

Tools and Equipment:

Reliable transportation with a valid Texas driver's license
