Our Bolt and Cruise Origin automated platforms, enables us to offer ways to meaningfully improve the lives of the communities we live in and the customers we serve. In this role you would be the driving force behind supporting our engineering and operations teams by building tools and automation for defect triage and forensics. Additionally, you will be leading efforts towards issue resolution and building predictive reliability analytics for the fleet.
We are looking for a hands-on leader, with a background in leading small, high impact teams, development of tools and with the passion to drive AV reliability and 2nd level support for our AV Foundation.
You would work cross-functionally with the different Cruise teams and occasionally partners on the GM and Honda teams, to help pragmatically work on these challenges and enable the successful delivery of these products
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Managing a small team that comprises software and reliability engineers as well as technical specialists.
- Oversee the technical development of tools as well as ensure management program success.
- Build observability tooling of our fleet to enable pareto analytics to drive prioritization of issue management as well as roadmap development.
- Be responsible for setting up a 2nd level support process with operations to ensure low latency engineering response and issue resolution.
- Provide technical leadership to the working teams, unblock programmatic roadblocks and guide the career development of your team
- Apart from the engineering teams, you would work closely with the Product, User Research, Commercial Operations and Design teams to translate product and business needs into clear technical scopes and requirements for your teams
- You would work with the commercial and business teams to develop roadmaps of future products and tools
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:
- Experience in ship products on a worldwide large scale
- Experience in product improvement life-cycle
- Experience in escalation handling
- Experience in process design and rollout
- Experience in technical leadership towards building analytics tools for product improvement and telling data stories
- Experience in project management
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace) or equivalent experience
- Experience in leading small, high impact engineering teams.
- Proven ability to work on large, multi-party programs
- Familiar with formal development processes and ability to develop to these
