New England Dermatology & Laser Center has been providing dermatology care to the greater Springfield community for over 50 years. We're looking for an experienced Medical Assistant with initiative & conscientious work ethics to join our busy specialty practice as a Phototherapy Technician.

Phototherapy technicians are responsible for providing superior customer service to patients on the phone and in person throughout their light treatment. This position follows established guidelines in applying phototherapy treatment per physician or non-physician provider orders that may include PUVA, NB UVB, HAND, FOOT or handheld UVB laser therapy. The phototherapy technician records treatment and patient response to treatment and communicates with physicians or non-physician providers per established protocols.

M-F 7:30a-4p, 40 hours per week (1/2 hour non-paid lunch)

This position reports to Director of Operations. The regular work location will be varied between our offices that provide this treatment, currently Springfield and Westfield, based on staffing and provider needs. Overtime and scheduling flexibility may be required to accommodate operational needs.

High school diploma or GED and Medical Assisting Certificate from an accredited school required. Current CMA or RMA or Certified Dermatology Technician certification required within 120 days of hire. CPR Certification required. Phototherapy booth and laser certificates of clinical training required. 1-year medical assisting direct patient care experience required. Prior work experience in dermatology and medical office experience preferred.
