Position Summary:
This position is accountable to work under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist and assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department to provide quality patient care. Pharmacy technicians will perform in accordance with established procedures and guidelines with the supervising pharmacist must approve deviations from this.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Six-months to one-year work experience as a pharmacy technician preferred. Completion of a formal or NCBOP approved pharmacy technician program preferred, but not required. Registration with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy (NCBOP) within 30 days of hire required. Ability to work various schedules including day, evenings and third shift to meet staffing needs. Good communication skills with all customers of the health system. Detailed oriented with an inherent quality for accuracy when performing activity within the department. Ability to work in a team environment.

- High School Diploma or GED
- PHARMACY TECHNICIAN

Preferred Education, Licenses, and Certifications:
- Diploma or Certificate Program Pharmacy Technology
Perform repetitive motion including bending, twisting, stooping, pushing and pulling and must be able to lift a minimum of 10 pounds. Must be able to see and read physician orders, medication labels, etc., and have manual dexterity to use computer systems. Ability to stand for long periods of time and ability to climb one to two flights of stairs as needed.
