Paralegal Positions: The Legal Aid Society is seeking to hire two paralegals to work in our County Court and District Court Bureaus. Applicants should have a demonstrated interest in criminal defense and/or public interest law. All applicants should forward a cover letter explaining their interest in working for the Legal Aid Society of Nassau County and a resume.

Responsibilities

§ Provide administrative support to our County Court and District Court attorneys

§ Download, scan, print and organize discovery for attorneys

§ View and Organize Body-Worn Camera footage, Interrogation Interviews and/or Forensic Interviews and provide attorneys a timeline of the footage on each individual case

§ Translate Body-Worn Camera footage, Interrogation Interviews and/or Forensic Interviews from Spanish to English

§ Effectively communicate with witnesses, clients, and colleagues

Skills

§ Knowledge of MS Office and ability to work with technology

§ Proficiency in English

§ Fluency in Spanish a plus

§ Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under pressure

§ Outstanding time-management, computer and oral communication skills

§ Ability to multitask

§ Paralegal certification or diploma required

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
