This newly created part-time position of 20 hours per week will provide a great opportunity to an individual interested in helping to organize and facilitate events within the College of Nursing. In addition, this role will assist Assistant Deans in facilitating the hiring process for part time faculty including prescreening candidates, scheduling interviews and ensuring all onboarding activities are completed.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Plans, organizes, implements, and staffs a range of events for the College of Nursing in collaboration with other stakeholders. These events may fall outside of traditional weekdays and daytime hours.
2. Organize and facilitate all event details including confirming and booking sites, confirming/coordinating logistics of events (e.g., catering, décor, AV needs), invitations, promotional materials, programs, etc.
3. Oversee event production onsite and manage event registration
4. Monitor part-time faculty postings and applications to identify and prescreen new applicants.
5. Organize application and hiring documents for Assistant Deans and Business Office.
6. Works with clinical placement coordinators to contact current faculty to confirm placement at clinical sites each semester.
7. Conduct pre-interview screening calls with applicants for alignment with clinical teaching needs
8. Schedule applicant interviews with Assistant Deans
9. Follow up with new hires to review onboarding document checklist
10. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
High school diploma or equivalent

Two years’ related experience in an administrative role.

Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Strong organizational skills
Ability to independently prioritize work effectively
Effective and professional communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work and collaborate well with a wide variety of individuals
Ability to work occasional night or weekends for scheduled events

Ability to move through event spaces
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally during events
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Previous event coordination experience
