The EEG Technologist Trainee is an entry level position in Neurotech's Neurodiagnostic Department. This position will train under experienced Neurodiagnostic Technologists to perform routine and ambulatory EEG hookups according to company policy and procedures. Once training in all required company competencies have been achieved for this level, the EEG Technologist Trainee will independently perform routine and ambulatory EEGs procedures. The ideal candidate will have great technology and communication skills as well as interest in the fields of Neurodiagnostics, Neuroscience, healthcare and patient care.
Location: Louisville, KY
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm EST
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Learns to measure and mark patient’s head according to 10-20 international system
- Learns to apply electrodes and start EEG and Video recording as per protocols
- Learns to operate Neurotech equipment and troubleshoot as necessary
- Documents patient’s medical history in the database
- Drives to patient’s homes and facilities to perform EEG set ups, fixes and to pick up equipment according to protocols and infection control precautions
- Maintains patient safety and comfort at all times
- Complies with HIPAA regulations
- Cleans and disinfects electrodes and equipment
- Uploads EEG and video data to secure server
- Communicates with Technologist Supervisor, Administrative Assistant and remote monitoring staff to maintain a good workflow
- Performs administrative tasks related to patient care as needed
- Follows Neurotech protocols and procedures including Infection Control, Covid-19 precautions and Patient Safety
- Participates in On-Call rotation
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in medical field preferred
- Advanced knowledge of PC’s and strong with technology.
- Great communication and organization skills
- Driver’s license and a good driving record
- CPR certification
Compensation:
$18.00/hour to start, increases to $19.00/hour when able to perform EEG set ups independently. Increases to $21.00/hour once the training program is successfully completed. Separate hourly rates when covering on-call.
