- Handle a variety of incoming raw material feeds to the reaction system and assume responsibility for finished product process equipment and packaging downstream of the extruder die.
- The Molding Compound Assistant is the primary resource for draining process equipment, changing process filters, repairing leaks, changing sight glasses, changing check valves, and unplugging process equipment.
- Perform rounds at specified intervals to ensure optimum operation of the Molding Compound process, and detection of unsafe conditions, potential upsets, or quality issues.
- Check the pelletizer room or rooms every thirty minutes to ensure that the strands have not fallen and that all is in proper operating order.
- Operate the Molding Compound process in a cost-effective manner, to ensure that the Molding Compound products remain competitive.
- Portray a positive attitude and promote good will among coworkers and management.
- Handle hazardous waste in accordance with prescribed procedures in order to protect the environment and Evonik presence in the community.
- In support of departmental objectives, and in recognition of the Molding Compound Operator's responsibility for coordinating team activities, respond to the direction of the Molding Compound Operator provided it complies with the Evonik policy.
- Complete additional assignments at the request of the Molding Compound Production Manager.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Safety, quality, operating instructions, and process training as identified in the Training Plan.
- Basic problem-solving skills preferred
- Candidate must be able to detect color variation.
