Overview

Come join our growing team of data practitioners as a Mendix Developer and be on the leading edge of Burlington’s digital transformation! In this role, you will be primarily responsible for designing and implementing custom web applications and data visualizations that support multiple Burlington business units. The successful candidate will have demonstrated proficiency in multiple front-end technologies and frameworks, strong UI/UX and responsive design experience, and proven ability to work with business and technology stakeholders to develop and support enterprise scale solutions.

For the majority of your day you will:

• Work with analytics team and business stakeholders to develop data-centric visualizations and applications integrated with backend systems
• Actively participate in the Agile development process
• Convert project specifications into detailed technical designs and working solutions
• Create quality mockups and lead proof of concepts / pilots to test suitability of technologies in solving business problems
• Drive the implementation of the solution across technology and business resources, identifying and eliminating roadblocks
• Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and usability
• Ensure applications meet security requirements
• Ensure accessibility across many platforms including laptops, tablets, and smartphones

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent industry experience

Licenses/Certification/Registration: AZ-900 certification preferred

Experience:

• 5 - 7 years’ programming experience required
• 3+ years’ of Angular2 or similar framework experience preferred
• Strong background in structured systems and data analysis
• Retail domain experience preferred

Skills and Abilities:

• Solid understanding of software engineering principles and Agile software development methodologies
• Strong application development skills (ie. Java, Javascript/Typescript/NodeJS)
• Proficient in low-code platforms such as Mendix and Power Apps
• Strong understanding of REST API’s and how to use them in practice
• Familiarity with Oracle and Microsoft Azure databases technologies
• Knowledge of Github, CVS, or other VCS
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaborate with a diverse team
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
• Desire and drive to be a trendsetter, learn new technologies, and embrace continuous improvement
