Education

Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)

Certification

ASCP (preferred)

Qualifications
Knowledgeable about the clinical laboratory setting and its operation, including current COLA accreditation standards and regulations. Demonstrates knowledge / competency in providing service to patients of all ages including neonate, child, adolescent, and adult.

Responsibilities

• Collects samples from patients using appropriate precautions and techniques

• Performs in-house laboratory tests proficiently, adhering to lab procedures and policies found in the Lab Procedure Manual

• Coordinate Proficiency Testing activities, ensuring timely completion of surveys and reporting results of surveys.
• Conducts lab studies and assessments as needed.
• Tests and evaluates quality control materials as required to ensure accuracy and precision of patient results.

• Performs activities outlined in Quality Assurance Plan.

• Provides orientation and coordinates training of all laboratory personnel.
• Maintains inventory of department.
• Assist in determining methods and processes to support deploying new testing initiatives.
