Additionally, our Technology Center for Hemostasis and Blood Gas Reagents is in Orangeburg, NY, and our Technology Center for Whole Blood Hemostasis is in San Diego, CA.


Position Summary:

Under general supervision, performs service and repair activities on instruments both within the Bedford site and from customers. Performs a variety of technical and administrative duties in the process of repairing and servicing instruments.
Responsibilities:
Key Accountabilities:
  • Performs all Service Center repairs on rental, customer and in-house instruments and completes associated documentation
  • Must be able to lift and transfer instruments, tools, or other depot inventory weighing up to 50 pounds above waist height.
  • Troubleshoots mechanical, software, and hardware problems on all Service Center products
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory within the Service Center.
  • Ensures proper compliance with all Werfen policies and procedures
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with and completion of safety training required within assigned timeframe.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Skills & Capabilities:
  • Solid background in electronics, electro-mechanical systems, and fluidic systems (examples include sensors, microcontrollers, servos, electronically controlled valves, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of business systems and processes
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer-focused mind set
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Qualifications:
Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:
  • Bachelors degree in scientific or technical discipline or high school diploma plus 3 years of experience in instrument assembly, repair, or servicing role required.
  • Previous experience in a process-oriented role in engineering, service, support, or other operational function desireable
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry/environment preferred; medical device industry desirable
