Job Profile Summary: Provide support to providers in the delivery of timely, quality patient health care services and collaborates with providers in the documentation of all aspects of the office visit.
Job Description:

Principle Responsibilities

• Patient Care Support
  • Provide patient care support and assist provider as instructed by the provider or registered nurse (RN).
  • Administer therapies including medications, calling in provider authorized prescriptions, scheduling follow up visits, prior authorization, or other support unique to a specialty provider.
  • Provides patient pre and post encounter or procedure, preventative or other health information per provider or RN.
  • Assist provider with in basket work within scope of practice.
• Rooming of Patients
  • Room patients following rooming standards, manage patient flow and obtain appropriate patient medical information or data.
  • Coordinate communication of medical information within scope of practice.
  • Confirm information with patient when necessary and document per practice.
  • Facilitate the relationship between patients and provider.
  • Follows through to resolve service problems with the involvement of the appropriate clinic personnel.
• Transcribing Orders
  • Transcribing objective and subjective patient related data under the direction of the provider working within established template entering orders per the provider request.
  • Provide patient specific instruction and education including after visit summaries under direction of the provider.
• Maintain Exam Rooms
  • Clean, organize and re-stock exam rooms.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance occurs for all exam room equipment.
  • Ensure that required teaching supplies are re-stocked and readily available.
  • Request and replenish medical and clerical supplies, including medications, for stock inventory.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Vocational or Technical Training program that is certified by the American Association of Medical Assistants and meets the American Medical Certification Association requirements for educational programs required
• Less than 2 years experience in an ambulatory clinical setting, including the use of automated medical records required
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - American Association of Medical Assistants required upon hire or
• Registered Medical Assistant - American Medical Technologists required upon hire and
• BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required upon hire
