JOB PURPOSE:
Under the direction of the Medical Practice Manager, the Medical Assistant assists in complying with the activities of the Medical Practice.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communicates with the CenterLight transportation team and assists with transportation issues at the site as needed, including communication with the participant and caregiver as appropriate.

Processes requests for the release of health information.

Schedules participant’s appointments with all providers/specialists, PACE requirements (Annuals, semi-annuals, etc.), any additional appointment required by the IDT, and tracks participant compliance with all scheduled appointments.

Maintains logs to ensure receipts of all signed MD orders.

Perform routine medical assistant functions such as obtaining participant weights and vital signs, EKG’s, drawing blood, etc., and documenting results in the medical record.

Place orders in the lab system for all blood and specimens being sent to the lab.

Tracks lab supply inventory and orders supplies as necessary while at all times adhering to the approval process.

At all times, fully stocks examination offices with all required medical supplies.

At all times, provides services according to established safety procedures and infection control standards as per OSHA and CLHC policies and procedures and provides services with due regard for the health, safety, and well-being of the patients.

At all times, maintains strict confidentiality of any/all patient information.

Assist MD as requested with set up of equipment for examination and clean up when necessary.

Understands that he/she is responsible for seeking feedback, instruction, and/or additional education with regard to any/all aspects of his/her job responsibilities that are not clear.

Performs other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Identifies and partners with other departments to resolve complex participant inquiries.

Completes all necessary assessments related to the medical practice, including but not limited to the Call Center Contact, etc.

Complete orders and 485s tracking logs and escalation process.

Answer phone calls, cover the front desk, and provide assistance to participants.

Performs job duties consistent with the organization’s mission and philosophy and all policies and procedures established by all organization departments.
Weekly Hours: 40
Schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
-
Medical Assistant Certification required. Completion of a Phlebotomy Technician Training Program is required.
Experience:
-
Previous experience as a phlebotomist in a medical setting preferred.

Customer Service experience required.

One (1) year minimum of experience working with the elderly
-
Demonstrate proficient typewriting skills. Typewriting tests must be taken with a minimum of 40 – 45 words per minute, preferably, and over 90% of accuracy.

A minimum of three (3) years of medical practice experience or comparable business experience in health care is preferred.

Experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.

Is self-directed with the ability to work with or without supervision.

Demonstrated ability to establish a good rapport with participants and peers is essential.

Tactful and courteous.

Pleasant telephone manner.

Must be able to work weekends.
Salary Range (Min-Max):
$22.1690/hour or $46,111.42 annually
