Marine Broker Account Executive
Responsibilities:
- Act as the single point of contact for all service requests; directs requests to the right team member and follows up for completion according to service milestones.
- Provide administrative support as needed, including creating certificates of insurance, contract review, bill of lading review, lender agreements etc.
- Work with clients and colleagues in the preparation of risk exposures and submission to markets including collection and scrubbing of values.
- Prepare renewal budget estimates
- Coordinate renewal strategy meetings with clients; renewal underwriter meetings with the client including formal presentation for each
- Maintain a capacity tracker to provide client with daily updates of renewal placement status
- Create orders to bind coverage including policy preparation and subscription endorsement. documents.
- Management of all-lines quotations for new locations per agreed rating matrix; requires good interaction with Property, Casualty and Environmental groups
- Management of additions and deletions to scheduled locations due to acquisition and divesture activity
- Administration of adjustment endorsements to markets (in many cases, quarterly basis); pursue signed endorsements from carriers for adjustments
- Work with allocation models for the creation and distribution of renewal invoices and quarterly adjustment invoices to stakeholders
- Conduct follow-ups for premium amounts due on renewal programs and added locations to avoid policy cancellation; conduct follow-ups on return premiums on deleted locations
- Create Marine Summaries of Insurance
- Assist with development of quarterly report on carrier financials
Location - This role is approved for remote work, our preference is to hire in the San Francisco Bay area.
Requirements:
- Excellent time management skills and a passion for client responsiveness/ sense of urgency is critical.
- Working knowledge of Ocean Cargo, Inland Marine, Stock Throughput, Hull and P&I, and Marine Liabilities coverages, are preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills, and strong technology skills including Word, Excel and Power Point capabilities.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships with the client and its internal stakeholders as well as other product line team members and the underwriting and processing departments of the insurance carriers.
- 5+ years of insurance experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Current Broker's License Required or must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
The national average salary for this role is $ 120 000 to $140 000 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
