Job Description & Responsibilities:

  • Plan for defense batteries by unitizing MPS and MRP (materials requirements planning) in ERP system.
  • To generate purchase requisitions, and work orders to meet production schedule and organizational goals.
  • Plan for shelf-life materials by running expiration report in ERP system.
  • Materials planning is a reiterative process that occurs at least once per month and when new customer orders are received.
  • Balanced inventory (avoid excess inventory and stock outs).
  • Expiration Report completed monthly to avoid stock out of shelf-life materials.
  • Design by updating item masters, bill of materials (BOMs), and Routings in ERP system for defense batteries per SAFT change orders (SCOs).
  • Timely and accurate updates in ERP system as a result of released change orders and carry out material dispositions as required.
  • Manager work order creation, maintenance, and closure.
  • Timely and accurate updates in ERP system because of released change orders and carry out material dispositions as required.
  • Generate material cost transfer purchase orders (MCT POs) between programs to support production needs and organizational goal.
  • Communication through maintaining status reports (shortage report and battery assembly schedule spreadsheets) for defense batteries and advise when issues will impact production schedule.
  • Maintain Kanban items for defense battery to include maintaining re-order points, creating Kanban cards, and generating purchase requisitions.
  • Perform approvals for stores requisitions, planning checks in QCBD (Quality Collaboration by Design) for defense battery drawings, stock sweeps, and move tickets.

Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree from a 4-year College/University in Business or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years Material Planning Experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV or other ERP experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints / design drawings.
  • General understanding of Change Control Process.
  • Advanced MS Excel knowledge and General knowledge of MS Office (acess, outlook, and word).
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
